For years, business growth was often reduced to one simple formula: get more customers and sell more.
The modern business environment has made that formula far more complicated.
A company can have a great product but poor positioning. It can generate thousands of leads but convert very few. It can increase revenue while losing profitability. It can hire more employees and still become increasingly dependent on its founder.
Growth, therefore, isn’t just a marketing function anymore.
It is a combination of strategy, customer acquisition, sales, technology, operations, people, retention and profitability.
This is why growth consultants are becoming increasingly relevant to Indian businesses.
The right growth consultant doesn’t simply recommend another advertising campaign. They examine the business as a complete system and try to determine the biggest constraint preventing the company from moving forward.
Is the company targeting the wrong customer?
Is the value proposition unclear?
Is marketing generating leads that sales cannot convert?
Are existing customers leaving too quickly?
Is the founder involved in every important decision?
Are there enough processes to support the next stage of growth?
The answers to these questions often determine whether a company can scale successfully.
India now has a growing pool of consultants and growth specialists working with startups, MSMEs, D2C brands, professional businesses and established enterprises.
Here is our curated list of 10 growth consultants and growth experts in India to watch in 2026.
This is an editorial selection rather than an official industry ranking. The list considers experience, expertise, business relevance, public track record and the types of businesses served.
1. Sameer Kapoor – Business Growth & Strategic Consultant
Growth consulting becomes most valuable when it moves beyond marketing and examines the entire business.
This is the space where Sameer Kapoor has built his positioning.
With more than 25 years of experience in business strategy, marketing and growth consulting, Kapoor works with startups, MSMEs and established businesses looking to move from inconsistent growth to a more structured growth model.
His approach begins with understanding the business rather than immediately recommending a marketing channel.
The questions can be simple but fundamental:
Where is the next phase of growth supposed to come from?
What is currently stopping it?
What systems need to be built to support it?
Kapoor’s work covers business strategy, customer acquisition, digital marketing, sales funnels, CRM, automation, SOPs, team building and digital transformation.
Through Growth Gurukul, he works with entrepreneurs on growth marketing, fundraising, operations, team building and business processes. His published profile states that he has mentored more than 200 startups, MSMEs and enterprises across India.
His approach is particularly relevant to businesses that have already established themselves but are struggling with the transition from founder-driven growth to system-driven growth.
That transition is often where Indian MSMEs encounter their biggest challenges.
A founder may have built the first ₹5 crore through relationships and personal involvement. But reaching ₹25 crore may require a sales organisation, CRM, marketing engine, documented processes and a management structure.
Kapoor’s consulting approach addresses many of these building blocks.
He also works with financial-services businesses, including mutual fund distributors, financial advisors and wealth managers, helping them develop systematic approaches to digital marketing, lead generation, sales and business operations.
Core strengths: Business strategy, growth marketing, sales systems, digital transformation, CRM, automation and scalable processes.
Best suited for: Startups, MSMEs and established businesses looking for practical, end-to-end growth consulting.
2. Rajiv Talreja – MSME Growth Consultant
If there is one segment that requires specialised growth expertise in India, it is the MSME sector.
Rajiv Talreja has built much of his work around this market.
His central focus is helping business owners move beyond the stage where everything depends on the founder.
That might mean developing a stronger sales process, improving team accountability, documenting systems or creating better operational structures.
The distinction is important.
A business can have a good product and strong demand and still be difficult to scale because its processes aren’t designed for growth.
Talreja’s programs focus on profitable and scalable businesses, systems, sales, marketing, teams and leadership.
His approach is particularly relevant to established entrepreneurs who don’t necessarily need to “start a business” but need to transform the business they already have.
Core strengths: MSME growth, systems, profitability, sales and founder independence.
Best suited for: Established MSMEs, family businesses and entrepreneurs looking to professionalise and scale.
3. Advit Sahdev – Revenue Growth Consultant
Advit Sahdev brings a strong revenue and digital-marketing perspective to growth consulting.
His experience includes building ODigMa, a digital marketing company that was subsequently acquired, and working with a large number of brands across sectors.
His approach highlights an important distinction between marketing activity and commercial growth.
Traffic is not revenue.
Impressions are not revenue.
Followers are not revenue.
Even leads aren’t revenue.
Ultimately, a growth strategy must connect customer acquisition with sales and profitability.
This revenue-centric mindset is especially relevant for D2C and digital businesses, where customer-acquisition economics can determine whether growth is creating value or simply burning capital.
Core strengths: Revenue growth, digital marketing, acquisition and commercial strategy.
Best suited for: D2C brands, SMBs, digital businesses and companies seeking measurable marketing-led growth.
4. Rahul Jain – SME Growth Consultant
Rahul Jain focuses on a segment that often gets overlooked in conversations about India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem: established SMEs.
These businesses may have operated for years but still face challenges around revenue growth, profitability, systems and execution.
The problem at this stage is rarely a lack of entrepreneurial energy.
It is often a lack of structure.
An SME owner might have dozens of potential growth opportunities but no clear framework for deciding which ones deserve attention.
Jain’s consulting and mentoring approach focuses on helping business owners improve revenue, profitability and scalability.
The objective is to make growth more systematic rather than dependent on occasional opportunities.
Core strengths: SME growth, revenue improvement, profitability and business systems.
Best suited for: Established SMEs and entrepreneurs looking to break through growth plateaus.
5. Neeraj Grover – Strategy-Led Growth Consultant
Neeraj Grover, associated with The Growth Union, represents a model of growth consulting that attempts to connect strategy with execution.
This is increasingly important because there can be a significant gap between the two.
A consultant may recommend a strategy.
An agency may execute campaigns.
But who ensures that the strategy and execution actually work together?
A strategy-led growth consultancy attempts to bridge that gap.
The Growth Union’s offering spans positioning, digital marketing, SEO, performance marketing, sales systems, revenue architecture and other business functions.
The philosophy is particularly relevant to founder-led businesses where marketing cannot be separated from broader commercial strategy.
Core strengths: Strategy, positioning, marketing, sales and execution.
Best suited for: Founder-led companies and SMEs seeking an integrated growth partner.
6. Thamizharasu Gopalsamy – Business Growth & Profitability Consultant
Thamizharasu Gopalsamy brings a practical approach to business growth, with an emphasis on sales, profitability, systems and team performance.
One of the strongest elements of this approach is the focus on profitable growth.
There is a significant difference between growing revenue and growing a business.
If revenue increases by 30% but costs increase by 40%, the business has grown in size but not necessarily in strength.
Growth consultants therefore need to understand margins, customer economics and operational efficiency.
Gopalsamy’s work addresses these areas alongside sales and marketing.
Core strengths: Sales, profitability, business systems and growth strategy.
Best suited for: SMEs and entrepreneurs looking for sustainable and profitable growth.
7. Amol Ghemud – Digital Growth Consultant
Amol Ghemud represents the specialised digital-growth end of the consulting spectrum through upGrowth.
Digital businesses often require a completely different growth methodology from traditional businesses.
A SaaS company, for example, may need to optimise activation, retention and lifetime value.
A D2C brand may need to improve conversion and repeat purchases.
A fintech company may need to balance acquisition with conversion and customer quality.
These businesses require data-driven growth experimentation rather than broad marketing advice.
upGrowth works across sectors including SaaS, fintech, D2C, edtech and healthcare, focusing on acquisition, conversion and revenue.
Core strengths: Digital acquisition, conversion optimisation and revenue growth.
Best suited for: SaaS, fintech, D2C and digital-first businesses.
8. Manoj Goel – Digital Business Growth Consultant
Many Indian businesses have strong products and decades of industry experience but haven’t fully embraced digital acquisition.
This is where a consultant such as Manoj Goel becomes relevant.
His work focuses on helping businesses and professionals use digital channels to build visibility, generate enquiries and develop customer-acquisition systems.
His published profile cites more than 28 years of experience and work with hundreds of businesses across sectors including healthcare, consulting, education and SMEs.
The opportunity for such businesses is significant.
They don’t necessarily need complicated “growth hacks.”
They need a reliable digital presence, clear positioning, lead generation, follow-up and conversion.
Core strengths: Digital marketing, online visibility, lead generation and digital transformation.
Best suited for: SMEs and professional businesses transitioning from traditional to digital growth.
9. Sorav Jain – Digital Marketing & Growth Strategist
Sorav Jain is a recognised name in India’s digital marketing ecosystem.
His work spans social media, digital strategy, marketing education and consulting.
For consumer-facing businesses, digital presence has become an important part of the customer journey.
Customers increasingly discover brands through search, social media, creators and digital communities before making purchasing decisions.
This means digital marketing isn’t merely promotional anymore.
It can influence awareness, trust, consideration and conversion.
Jain’s experience in digital education and consulting makes him relevant to businesses looking to develop stronger digital capabilities.
Core strengths: Social media, digital marketing, content and online customer acquisition.
Best suited for: Consumer brands, SMEs and entrepreneurs looking to improve digital marketing.
10. Future Business School – Growth Strategy & Business Coaching
Future Business School offers a coaching-led approach to growth strategy.
Rather than treating growth as a single marketing problem, its framework considers areas such as paid marketing, organic growth, retention and referrals.
This is an increasingly useful perspective.
A business shouldn’t have to acquire every customer from scratch.
Existing customers can return.
They can purchase additional products.
They can refer other customers.
They can become advocates.
Consequently, sustainable growth often comes from improving the entire customer lifecycle rather than simply increasing acquisition spend.
The coaching model helps entrepreneurs identify and validate growth strategies rather than blindly investing in every possible marketing channel.
Core strengths: Growth strategy, acquisition, retention and referrals.
Best suited for: Business owners looking to develop and validate repeatable growth strategies.
What Separates a Growth Consultant From a Marketing Agency?
This is an important question for entrepreneurs.
A marketing agency is generally responsible for executing specific marketing activities.
That could include:
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads
- SEO
- Social media
- Content
- Email marketing
- Website development
A growth consultant typically starts one level higher.
They ask:
Should you be spending money on this channel at all?
They examine the business model, customer journey, sales process, retention and economics before determining where marketing fits.
In other words:
Marketing asks, “How do we promote?”
Growth asks, “How do we create sustainable business growth?”
The distinction can save companies considerable time and money.
The Future of Growth Consulting in India
The next phase of Indian business growth is likely to be increasingly data-driven and technology-enabled.
AI and automation are already changing how businesses generate leads, communicate with customers, analyse data and manage internal processes.
At the same time, competition is increasing.
Customer acquisition is becoming more expensive in many categories, while customers have more choices.
This means businesses cannot rely indefinitely on simply increasing marketing expenditure.
They will need to improve the efficiency of their entire growth engine.
That includes:
Better positioning.
Better customer acquisition.
Better sales conversion.
Better retention.
Better technology.
Better processes.
Better teams.
And ultimately, better economics.
This is where the role of a growth consultant is likely to become even more important.
How to Choose a Growth Consultant
The best growth consultant for one company may be completely wrong for another.
A startup looking for product-market fit needs different support from a 20-year-old manufacturing company trying to professionalise its sales team.
Before engaging a consultant, business owners should ask:
Does the consultant understand my business model?
Industry experience can be valuable, but understanding the underlying business model is even more important.
Can they identify the actual bottleneck?
The solution should address the cause of the problem—not just its symptoms.
Are recommendations measurable?
Growth should ultimately translate into meaningful metrics such as revenue, profit, conversion, retention or customer-acquisition efficiency.
Is implementation part of the engagement?
Strategy without execution often remains a PowerPoint presentation.
Can the growth system scale?
The goal shouldn’t be one successful campaign. It should be creating a repeatable mechanism for growth.
Conclusion
India’s business environment is moving from an era of “more sales at any cost” towards a more sophisticated understanding of growth.
Businesses increasingly need to understand not just how to acquire customers, but how to acquire the right customers, convert them efficiently, retain them, serve them profitably and build systems that allow the organisation to scale.
That is why growth consulting is becoming increasingly valuable.
The consultants and growth specialists featured in this list represent different approaches.
Sameer Kapoor focuses on the intersection of business strategy, marketing, digital transformation and scalable systems. Rajiv Talreja has built a strong MSME-focused growth ecosystem. Advit Sahdev brings a revenue-centric digital perspective, while Rahul Jain focuses on SME growth and profitability.
Neeraj Grover combines strategy with execution, Thamizharasu Gopalsamy focuses on sales and profitable growth, and Amol Ghemud represents specialised digital growth consulting.
Manoj Goel focuses on digital transformation for businesses and professionals, while Sorav Jain brings strong digital-marketing expertise. Future Business School offers a coaching-led approach to identifying and validating growth strategies.
Ultimately, hiring a growth consultant should not be about finding someone who promises the biggest growth percentage.
It should be about finding someone who can answer a more important question:
“What is actually stopping my business from growing—and what do we need to change to fix it?”
When that question is answered correctly, growth becomes less about guesswork and more about building a repeatable, measurable and profitable business-growth engine.
